Celebrating two of Bridge Housing's many team members committed to culture and community. Melissa Russell-Combo and Koolyn Gordon participated in the recent the 50th Aboriginal Rugby League Knockout Carnival.

They are the coaches for three teams from the Waterloo Storm the under 15 Girls and under 13 and under 17 Boys and chaperoned their charges down to Bomaderry to compete on the Long Weekend.  All the hard training paid off, with each team giving their best. The Under 15 girls topped their division with a resounding 42-0 win! Congratulations to all the teams and their coaches for making the carnival a celebration of team spirit.

The Aboriginal Rugby League Knockout Carnival has been running since 1970 and has grown into a modern day Corroboree and this year, after missing the last 2 years due to COVID-19, is the 50th time the event has been held. Organisers anticipate TV audiences across Australia, Europe, the US, NZ and the Pacific Islands, of more than 1.2 million people.
