Welcome to Bridge Housing’s new Director, Karen Cooper!

With a background in all areas of business management, Karen has more than 25 years of senior executive experience across both corporate and community sector organisations. It’s a career that led her to found her own consulting business in 2017, which she continues to lead today.

Karen brings a wealth of related industry knowledge to Bridge Housing, having worked extensively with organisations in the youth, community and employment sectors.

As a proud Kamilaroi woman from Southwest Queensland, Karen is also a respected Indigenous leader and is currently Deputy Chair of Yilabara Solutions, a specialist Aboriginal training and recruitment organisation, and a Non-executive Director of Tamworth Community College.

Karen is excited to join the Board and sees an opportunity to help Bridge Housing grow as we implement our new 2021-24 Strategic Plan.

“Bridge Housing has a reputation for innovation in the housing sector: seeking new solutions to old problems,” said Ms Cooper.

“With housing affordability at an all-time low in Sydney, Bridge Housing has a huge opportunity to lead the way in helping solve the social and affordable housing shortage.

“I’m delighted to join the Board and help Bridge Housing make a positive change in the community, through advocacy and action,” she said.

Welcome, Karen: we are thrilled to have you aboard!
