Bridge Housing today announces the resignation of its Chief Executive Officer, John Nicolades, following 15 years of dedication to both Bridge Housing and the broader community housing sector.
Mr Nicolades leaves the organisation in a strong position, having grown Bridge Housing from 650 properties and a team of eight, to a substantial and successful business employing more than 90 staff and providing more than 3,500 homes to 5,500 people.
“It is with sincere appreciation that we say goodbye to John,” said Bridge Housing Chairman, Mark Turner.
“He has played a key role in expanding Bridge Housing’s portfolio, through successful tenders, debt raising to fund the development of 300 new housing at Bungarribee, Parramatta and Glebe as well the successful tender for the Northern Beaches management transfer.
“He is highly respected in the sector as a dedicated and passionate advocate for affordable housing and through his leadership in state and national industry bodies.
“We thank John for his outstanding contribution and wish him all the best for his future endeavours,” said Mr Turner.
“While it is a big decision to step down from Bridge Housing, this is the right time for me to move on, and I look forward to continuing to make a contribution towards the growth of affordable housing and the community housing sector post-Bridge Housing,” said John Nicolades.
“I have had a marvellous time as CEO and my greatest satisfaction is to see the impact Bridge Housing has had in providing secure, affordable housing for our many residents.
“I leave Bridge Housing with a strong and innovative service delivery organisational culture, sound financial position and completion of our next Strategic Plan for my successor to further grow Bridge Housing’s capacity to deliver more affordable housing,” said Mr Nicolades.
Mr Nicolades will remain at Bridge Housing for a six-month transitional period to enable a smooth leadership handover. The Board has commenced the process of appointing a new CEO and will announce the successful candidate in due course.
