Bridge Housing wishes our residents, applicants, staff and community a very Happy Lunar New Year.

Our staff kicked off Lunar New Year today with an afternoon tea at the Goulburn St office featuring an auspicious (good luck) sayings lucky dip, festive food and decorations, and a few auspicious words from our Acting CEO Rebecca Pinkstone.

Lunar New Year is celebrated by people from Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Tibetan and some other Asian backgrounds early In the calendar year. Lunar New Year in 2021 officially starts today, Friday 12 February.

2021 is the Year of the Ox. People born in the years 1961,1973,1985,1997, 2009 and 2021 are oxen. Oxen are considered hard workers, intelligent and reliable, like to stay in the background and never demand praise.
