Stephen Bull has an unusual professional background, combining the hard-headed world of commerce (real estate and finance) with the people-centred discipline of psychology. They will both stand him in good stead as a newly appointed Director of Bridge Housing.

“Coming from the private sector I’m impressed by the community housing sector’s  tremendous capability and capacity which can be leveraged through further government support, including capital injections , subsidies or access to land, to increase the supply of homes to low income households,” Stephen says.

Stephen has over 25 years’ experience in real estate, community creation and finance roles. He has worked at Westfield, AMP and Stockland. The last five years of his executive career were as Group Executive and CEO of Stockland’s retirement village business.

Prior to his real estate career in Australia, Stephen spent several years working in investment banking in London. He currently sits on the Investment Committee for the MaxCap Industrial Opportunities Fund.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of NSW and Bachelor of Psychology (Hons.) from the University of New England. He is also member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

“I’m a big believer in using both your heart and head to support people in need so that you get good commercial and human outcomes.”

Well said Stephen and welcome to our governance team!
