Bridge Housing staff have undertaken a major initiative to make Christmas a little brighter for clients of The Settlement and Share the Dignity.
The food drive of non-perishable food and household items donated by staff will create hampers for local families in need and be distributed through The Settlement.
Staff also participated in the #itsinthebag campaign inspired by Share the Dignity, an Australia wide charity who asked us to fill a handbag with Christmas gifts of treats and necessities for women and girls experiencing homelessness. Read more about Share the Dignity.
Bridge Housing matched the donations collected tfor both causes o the value of $1,000, helping to make the initiative a massive success.
CEO John Nicolades commended the work of coordinator, Team Leader Assets, Bronagh Loy and her team: “Thank you for your magnificent effort in organising 12 Cans of Christmas food drive.”
The Settlement is a charity based in Darlington, focused on providing housing, youth programs, after school activities and assistance with drug and alcohol, literacy and mental health issues. Read more about The Settlement.
