The results of Bridge Housing’s 7th consecutive annual Employee Opinion Survey reveal that staff have remained highly engaged with their work and the organisation throughout a period of significant change as we prepare to grow our portfolio by 60% and increase our staff complement from 60 to 80 people in 2019 .

In the past 12 months, we have moved offices to Goulburn St after 13 years in Redfern, grown our team by about 30% to take on 1,200 new social housing tenancies in the Northern Beaches from 5 August, and made changes to management structures and teams.

The Employee Opinion Survey shows:

  • 81% of staff indicated they felt engaged, 4% higher than the industry average and equal our 2018 result.
  • 89% indicated they are satisfied with the organisation’s progress and success in delivering outcomes, a slight decrease on 91% in 2018, but still 15% higher than the industry average.

Bridge Housing also scored highly with staff for the quality of our facilities, employee diversity, organisational objectives and our Mission and Vision.

Based on these results and with a new second office opening shortly in Brookvale, our focus in the coming year will be on greater staff involvement, career progression and cross-team collaboration and communication.

CEO John Nicolades said: “It is a credit to the professionalism and commitment of our staff that Bridge Housing has continued to grow and thrive during this exciting yet challenging time.”

“We also mindful of investing in the health and wellbeing of our staff with initiatives such as our Black Dog Institute partnership and a range of wellbeing offerings, including regular massages.”
