We had an amazing Harmony Week celebration lunch today with a range of yummy food that expresses and celebrates the cultural diversity of our staff - Aboriginal, Anglo Australian, Bangladeshi, British, Canadian, Chinese, Fiji, Greek, German,  Hungarian, Indian, Indonesian, Italy  Irish, Lebanese, Malay, Maori, Filipino, Peruvian, Rotuman, Scottish, Serbian, Sri Lankan, Swedish, Swiss and Vietnamese - reflecting Australia’s diverse cultural mosaic.

Harmony Week is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background. Its theme Everybody Belongs is made all the more important by the white supremacist terrorist attack in New Zealand leading to the deaths of 50 Muslim families last week.  We stand in solidarity with our Muslim residents and staff.

Our celebration of Harmony Week and the strength of a diverse and inclusive culture is a small but important symbolic NO to the nihilism and violence of those who seek to divide us and deny our common humanity.
