Volunteer day at Bridge Housing was a huge success this week, despite the heat and our office-bound team discovering how tough manual labour can be!

With the help of our lawns, grounds and cleaning contractor, Australian Facilities Landscapers (AFL), Bridge Housing staff volunteered to clean up the common area at one of the crisis housing properties managed by us for Caretakers Cottage – Options Youth Housing in Bondi.

Team Leader Assets Bronagh Loy said: “It was lots of hard work and I think it’s safe to say we all have a new-found understanding of how tiring manual labour in the sun is! That said, we showed great teamwork and cross team communication and the area looked amazing afterwards.”

“As we were working, one of our tenants came out to let us know that the gardens looked fabulous and a neighbour told us she was very impressed with our hard work and felt it made a huge difference to the whole area.”

“Our East Team assets contractors, Assett Group Services (AGS), provided BBQ lunch and six of their supervisors popped by to lend a hand. We have just entered our fourth year in contract with AGS and the day was a great sign of how well our working relationship is going.”

Thank you to Sage, Matt, Lana, Lorraine and Tayla, as well as the AGS and AFL staff who supported the 2019 Bridge Housing Volunteer Day.
