Making changes to your home

You will need to get written consent from us before making any alterations or modifications to you property.

Modifications

Modifications are changes you need to make to your home because of illness, injury, age, or disability experienced by you or someone in your household.

We are responsible for reasonable minor modifications such as grab rails and other non-structural changes. We will consider major modifications if you have external funding, such as NDIS or government grants.

What You Need to Do

Fill out a Modifications Request Form before making any changes.

Provide all the information we need, like an Occupational Therapist Report and proof of your NDIS status.

What We Will Do

Review your request

Ask the owner or agent for approval before making changes.

We will handle minor modifications that we approve.

We will check the modifications after the work is done.

If we can’t approve your request, we will talk with you about other options, like moving to a home that better meets your needs.

Alterations

Alterations are when you change, remove, replace, or add something to your home, yard, or boundary fences at your own expense. You need written consent from us before you do any alterations.

What You Need to Do

Fill out an Alterations Request Form before making any changes.

Give a full description of what you want to do, including details about the contractor if needed.

If your request is approved:

You must pay for the changes.

You are responsible for fixing and taking care of the changes.

You must fix any damage caused by poor work or incomplete jobs.

You must remove the changes and restore the property when you move out.

What We Will Do

We will review your application and give you a decision.

We will inspect the changes after they are made.

We will inspect the property when you move out to ensure it’s in its original condition.

We won’t unreasonably say no to minor changes.
