Welcome to the Bridge Housing tenant community.

Our goal is to help you settle into your home.

Here is a handy checklist to help you move into your new place.

Sign and Return Your Property Condition Report

Sign and return your Property Condition Report to your Housing Manager and keep the second copy for yourself.

Keep All Your Paperwork Together

Keep all your important papers, including your rental agreement, rent receipts, and any letters from your Housing Manager, in one place.

Update Your Details

Tell the Australian Electoral Commission, Centrelink, and my.gov about your new address.

Redirect Your Mail

Get the post office to send your mail to your new address. Ask your Housing Manager if you are having trouble filling out Australia Post’s form.

Check Gas and Power

Make sure your gas and electricity are connected and working.

Find the Rubbish Bins

Look for the rubbish bins and ask your Housing Manager when bin day is.

Pet-Proof Your Home

If you have a pet, make sure your home is safe for them. If you have cats, keep them inside for a few days to help them get used to the new place..

Moving is a great time to sort your things. Donate, throw out, or fix any clothes or belongings you don’t need anymore.

Your Housing Manager will give you Bridge Housing’s Tenant Handbook when you move in. They will also show you how to use the MyBridge Tenant Portal, where you can report a repair, pay your rent, and look up everything related to your tenancy.

Happy moving!
