Bridge Housing AGM 2024
Bridge’s 40th birthday AGM began with the scent of sandalwood in a special smoking ceremony and Welcome to Country performed by Uncle Raymond Weatherall. Aunty Jennifer Thomson captivated the audience with her personal journey through social housing, whilst Nunakal Kunjiel’s joyous song, didgeridoo and dance performances, including the Dance of the Crane, uplifted everyone.
Chair Stephen Bull, CEO Laurie Leigh and Chair of the Finance, Risk and Audit committee Graham Monk reported on the impacts and performance of the business in FY2024.
Directors Karen Cooper and Jill Hannaford were returned by members for a further three-year term. Karen Cooper has been appointed Deputy Chair and Jill Hannaford the Chair of the Subcommittee with responsibility for people, innovation, and customers.
The AGM also marked the retirement of Carolyn Scobie following nine years of exceptional service and leadership. Carolyn has held myriad roles within her tenure; from Executive Chair and Deputy Chair positions to Chair of the People and Governance Committee. We thank Carolyn for her unwavering support of Bridge and our sector.
