Bridge Housing has secured White Ribbon Australia Workplace Accreditation after an 18-month process to develop a comprehensive response to Violence against Women in the workplace. We are now officially recognised by White Ribbon Australia as a pioneer in contributing to national cultural change to prevent and respond to violence against women.

The Accreditation Report noted that our Domestic Violence in the Workplace Policy, and our Domestic Violence Leave Policy are regarded as Best Practice. The report also sets out a series of next steps to ensuring we are booth effectively communication and identifying areas of work as part of our 3 Year Continuous Improvement Plan.

Ronan Smyth, Executive Workplace Program Manager and Amy Crichton-Peterson, Workplace Program Advisor from White Ribbon presented the Accreditation Report and a framed certificate to Bridge Housing in October 2017.

This award-winning program recognises workplaces that take active steps to prevent and respond to violence. Violence against women impacts on the health and safety of women at work, their personal wellbeing and their productivity.

The partnership initiative was launched in June 2016. The White Ribbon workplace program builds Bridge Housing’s capacity to identify, prevent and respond to violence against women in the workplace and send a very clear signal to all our stakeholders that we have a zero tolerance approach to such violence.

Independent assessors with expertise in organisational development, business management, organisational change, quality improvement, gender equity and accreditation assess workplaces assess organisations undergoing the accreditation process.
